Maputo Protocol: Invitation to a Virtual CSOs consultation on the Implementation of the Maputo Protocol in Nigeria

Alliances for Africa in partnership with Equality Now is facilitating the drafting of the Nigeria Shadow Report on the Maputo Protocol, for submission to the African Commission on Human and People’s rights (ACHPR), in view of the commission’s next session in April, 2022. The process involves organizing and consulting with civil society organizations in Nigeria to ascertain the status of implementation of the protocol in their zones in order to produce a report that mirrors the true situation in the various geopolitical zones. The findings from the conversations will not only provide insight on the issue but also inform recommendations on mechanisms for holding the Nigerian government accountable.
