AfA Holds Capacity Training on Technology and Leadership for women in Ebonyi and Enugu

The program brought together women and girls from various sectors to build understanding on leadership through the feminist lens, recognize the importance of feminist leadership in addressing systemic inequality and advancing gender equality as well as leveraging the technological tool (Kpoturum) developed by AfA on ending Violence Against Women and Girls.

Kpoturum is an online registry aimed at ending Violence against women and girls (VAWG) in South East Nigeria. It is designed to collect, collate and disaggregate data on VAWG through the reporting and documentation of cases of sexual & gender-based violence in South East Nigeria. It is also designed to help survivors access justice through referral and case management.

Kpoturum which literally means “call on me” in Igbo language was chosen to resonate with the indigenous people of Igbo particularly women and girls survivors, by way of reassuring them that they can get help when they call on us.
