Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Assistant, Alliances for Africa (AfA)
Job Type: Part Time (3 days a week Mon – Wed) with an initial 3 months’ probation.

Purpose of Position:
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Assistant will be mainly responsible for providing all areas of monitoring, data collection, analysis, assessment, survey, and documenting learnings from all projects. He/ She will report to the Programs Manager.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to designing qualitative and quantitative research tools, plans and methodologies
Establish a mechanism for data collection tools (quantitative and qualitative) and reporting to ensure all monitoring requirements are meet including research reports;
Organize, design, plan and conduct the collection, verification, evaluation, analysis compilation and dissemination of program data;
Initiate and/or participate in data and research projects in achieving AfA’s vision and thematic focus areas;
Conduct regular field visits to track progress against indicators and put in place systems for data quality checks;
Regularly collect case studies, success stories and lessons learnt to tell of the impact of the project success;
Establish a filling system for the project activities to ensure easy retrieval of information as and when needed;
Work closely with the Program manager and Project team to ensure data on project deliverables are accurate and up-to date;
Collate, analyze, manage and report all project related data including data from kporturum app on VAWG.
Contribute to AfA’s resource mobilization efforts
Ensures AfA’s stays abreast of key policy changes arid relevant external issues.
Support the data, research, and policy. Lead in the production of a wide range of high-quality written outputs for various audiences including well-targeted research reports, policy briefs, press releases, articles, and op-eds.
Coordinate and support the field data and research officers in the performance of their duties
Represent Alliances for Africa at relevant meetings, conferences, media engagements, events, etc on all matters related to policy and research;
Any other task assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications:
BSc in Public Policy, Economics, Information Technology or any social science degree;
Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods and research tools/techniques such as Kobo Tool Box;
Familiarity with project cycle management, monitoring & evaluation with strong data analysis skills;
Organized and able to multi task under guidance and direction from the Programs Manager;
Ability to work efficiently with others, adapt and flexible;
Minimum of 2 – 3 years cognate experience work with an NGO, especially one with focus on women and girls’ rights advocacy, will be an added advantage;
Competency in computer skills (Microsoft word, Excel, and power point presentation);
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting, proof-reading, and editing.
