Summary of Position:
This is a Six (6) months interim position for a female candidate with extensive knowledge of gender and development, community engagement and mobilization, and strategic policy advocacy. The temporary Programme Officer shall assist the Program Manager in facilitating the implementation of AfA’s project on strengthening and coordinating the enforcement of the Imo State VAPP on ending VAWG. The project is at its last phase of completion; hence the duties include supporting research analysis, capacity building, advocacy, knowledge generation, partnership building and other strategies towards implementation of approved planned activities under the project on strengthening and coordinating the enforcement of the Imo State VAPP on ending VAWG. She will report directly to the Programme Manager
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Program Manager to design, develop and deliver appropriate interventions for implementing planned activities;
- Craft ideas and interventions for achieving specific project targets, provide ideas and guidance on future strategic plans for the project;
- Monitor the progress of the project on Ending VAWG in project countries;
- Monitor, evaluate and compile progress reports, write concept notes for each activity, and submit activity reports on the project;
- Support the project’s activities in capacity building (on data collection and analysis), networking and strategic partnership building with governments, civil society and the private sector;
- Draft and prepare consultancy contracts, Terms of References (TOR), and invoices and maintain tracking system for accurate and timely processing;
- Co-ordinate and organize meetings, workshops and relevant events, develop and generate appropriate gender analytical inputs, policies, proposals, reports and briefs, and perform other ad hoc duties;
- Call for meetings, coordinate and engage extensively with the Imo State Committee on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (ISCEVAWG) and produce meeting reports; in addition, manage the platform on WhatsApp;
- Responsible for writing the final report of the project ;
- Facilitate the closure process of the entire project.
