Mrs Blessing Duru is a Business Administration and Management graduate from one of the Federal Polythenics in Nigeria – Akanu Ibiam Federal Poly Uwana, Ebonyi State and a PGD student of Imo State University currently studying Political Science. She is also a Gender Advocate and human right activist.

Presently, she is the Programme Manager with Alliances for Africa (AfA) where she coordinates the Leadership and Women Participation in Politics in South East initiative as well as develops programs dealing with the application of international and regional treaties for protecting women human rights at national and local level.   With more than Six years of work experience at AfA, She has acquired an understanding of many aspects of non-profit management including financial Management. Most recently she is serving a dual role as AfA Community Outreach Manger in Owerri Imo state and the Program Manager for the organisation; Blessings’ prior experience as an Administrator has included positions at a college, and organisations in Nigeria.

Her years of professional experience includes office administration and Management, human women rights, women empowerment and leadership program, promoting and training of women in eliciting their leadership potentials to enhance their participation in the socio-political life of their communities.

She is an active founding Member of the Nigerian Feminist Forum (NFF), serving on the Steering Committee Board of the NFF and a member of the African Feminist Forum (AFF) and also the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) fellow. She has participated in several colloquiums; engaged in several advocacy visits within state levels especially south eastern states and has facilitated workshops on Leadership program for women politicians and young girls.
