Join AfA in advancing gender justice across Africa. Work alongside dedicated gender justice advocates to create a more equitable Africa where women and girls thrive. We welcome individuals committed to feminist values, social justice, and collaborative community development.
Alliances For Africa (AfA) has an observer status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights. AfA sits on the Executive Committee of the Coalition for an Effective African Court and is a member of the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights (SOAWR) ). In July 2012, AfA was granted consultative status with the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Ethics
“as individual feminists, we are committed to and believe in gender equality based on feminist principles…”. The personal is political, and the political is personal. As we dissect and reflect on our roles in the movement, we should reflect on the concept of feminism, our organising and networks, feminist solidarity, self-care and well being.

We believe in equity, intersectionality, inclusivity and accessibility within our organisation and consider this in all that we do. We are committed to the practice of engaging with people of different ethnic and social backgrounds, ages, religion, races, gender, or sexual orientation.

We undertake all the work we do with enthusiasm and passion, using our creativity and innovation to proffer resilient solutions, educate and support all on the African feminist journey.
