Supporting Rural Women Farmers during COVID-19

 
“Did you know that Nigerian women contribute close to 70 per cent of the agricultural workforce,
yet get less of accruing returns.”
 
 
Alliances for Africa with support from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) is supporting 120 rural women #Farmers during the #COVID19.
 
Benefits
 
1. 120 crop farmers would revive and sustain their production activities and have linkage to markets
 
2. Each of the 120 beneficiaries reach will be informed with information on COVID-19 preventive measures
 
3. New and old media engaged extensively to sensitize on prevention of COVID-19, information on modalities to access maternal health care for women of reproductive ages and sensitization for prevention of violence against women.

Through OSIWA support, Alliances for Africa has
 
  1. Provided rural women farmers with an improved variety of Agricultural products
  2. Provided rural women with COVID-19 prevention and sanitisation tools
  3. Educate rural women on hacks for greater Agricultural outputs
  4. Educate women on staying safe and sane during the COVID era.
